Fruit Custard

Recipe to a sweet, rich and creamy fruit Custard.
Custard which is not only tasty but healthy as well as it contains milk and fruits. It is quite popular in summer time. Custard is thick dessert. It can be of vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, etc it is one's own choice to choose flavor.
Kids love custard a lot. You can have custard with jelly.
There are many custard powder available in market but Brown and Polson Custard Powder is my favourite.

Ingredients

1 liter milk
150 grams sugar
50 grams custard powder
Fruits (own choice):-
50 grams Apple
50 grams Mango
30 grams Cherry
20 grams Pomegranate

Method


  • Take a heavy bottom pot and pour the milk and let it boil.
  • When milk boils add sugar and let it dissolve completely & cook on medium flame for 5-6 minutes.
  • In the meantime take a small bowl add 50 grams of custard powder and few tablespoon of milk which we are cooking, mix both and form a smooth-lump-free paste out of it. (Actually i am using here vanilla custard you can use any flavor of your own choice)
  • Transfer this paste in cooking milk slowly in batches and whisk the milk continuously to avoid lump formation.
  • Cook the custard till desired thickness and consistency but please remember we don't have to overcook it as it will give a burning taste and smell which will destroy the custard.
  • Remove from fire and let it cool completely and refrigerate.
  • Wash and cut the fruits in small pieces when the custard got chill add fruits to it and mix well (avoid citrus fruits).
  • Serve chill and garnish with fruits slices.
