Semiyan kheer | Semiyan payasam


Semiyan kheer or vermicelli kheer or semiyan payasam is basically prepared by roasted semiyan and milk. It can be served hot or cold.
Semiyan are basically made on Eid, Diwali, holi or any occasions. Generally women eat it as surgi in the karwachauth's dawn.
So we will move towards the recipe of Semiyan kheer

Ingredients

100 grams of Semiyan/ vermicelli
1liter Milk
50 grams of Sugar
2 tbsp. Ghee
1 Cardamom
10 grams Raisins
15 grams chopped Almonds

Method

  • Break semiyan into 3-4 inches long pieces.
  • Add 2 tbsp. ghee in a pan then add these broken semiyan to it and roast till light golden brown colour (if you have buyed roasted one then you have to skip this step).
  • On other hand boil milk in a pot then simmer it and add sugar when dissolve add roasted semiyan to it.
  • Then add cardamom seeds and dry fruits.
  • Cook on slow fire till you get the consistency of your kheer according to your desire Slowly stir it with laddle time to time then check the sweetness.
  • Add saffron water.
  • It can be served hot or cold.

You can check MalpuaJalebi, Ghevar, Gulab Jamun.
